Footage emerged Friday evening of what appears to be the Dallas police officer pacing back and forth crying in her apartment building hallway, after she shot and killed a man. The officer, who is being identified as Officer Amber Guyger, claims she was trying to go into her apartment actually entered the victim's apartment.
26 year old Botham Shem Jean died from his wound after being rushed to a nearby hospital. Guyger, who has yet to be identified to the public by the Dallas Police Dept., claims she thought the man was an intruder when he opened the door. She was still in uniform when the incident occurred.
A tenant allegedly heard the gunfire and instantly started recording from her stairway after she heard the officer yell. The person who recorded this footage also had video of Jean being administered CPR as they carried him out on a stretcher. Several tenants have alleged that they heard Guyger yelling for Jean to open the door, in a demanding manner before the shooting occurred. They recalled hearing commotion in the hall afterwards.
A manslaughter warrant was issued for the officer who is still unidentified to the public by police.
